Wow! Two 100 disc Packs of Taiyo Yuden!

Guys, if you followed some of my posts you know I love Taiyo Yuden discs and www.supermediastore.com, but I don't know now! I just got two 100 pks of 8X-R (premium discs) and there all bad!! My three DVD burners keep getting a power calibration error! Plus these discs are different, there lighter and not as thick!

Anyone ever have this problem?

Is the upper polycarbonate layer present or missing? Defects exist out there, need to be returned.

MagnificentMarcus 08-01-2008 04:29 PM

Not sure what was missing, just that they wouldn't burn. My DVD burners made a horrible sound, like it was trying to spit it out. I knew it wasn't my burners because they would burn the older TY discs I had and the Verbatim discs.

I do realize there are occasional defects but two whole cakeboxes!!

Discs are mass produced. When a flaw exists, thousands of discs -- every one of them in a row -- are bad. The whole "bad batch" thing people talk about on forums, in relation to a single/partial spindle here and there, is crap. It's a myth perpetuated by stupid people. When something is wrong, it's majorly wrong, as you see here. This assumes it's really a media issue, I'd be curious what these discs looked like.

MagnificentMarcus 08-08-2008 12:09 PM

Yep! Just got notice that they received them and are exchanging them for a new batch!www.supermediastore.com does a great job, no arguments, no crap, just exchanging them with their sincerest apologizes.
