DVD quality rankings: excellent info! Thanks. TDK DVD+R DL blanks are not mentioned in your comparisons. They are often available at office supply stores for $20 for a 25-pack. Are they as high quality as other TDK blanks? Might be worthwhile to include info on these blanks in your comparison chart(s).

TDK is not found on the 1st/2nd/3rd class review charts because TDK does not actually manufacture the discs. TDK DVD+R DL are made by either RITEK or CMC (mostly RITEK, according to reports and experience).
Both of these manufacturers are included under the 2ND CLASS rankings, discs that can work, but have proven themselves overall unreliable in terms of burning success and playback/readback performance.

As mentioned in another
recent thread about TDK media on this forum, while TDK may be "cheap", it might not be the best deal in the long run. It's what you would call "false economics". While you pay less for the TDK media up front, by the time you often throw away the bad discs, the per-disc price often evens out to being more costly than simply having bought the "more expensive" Verbatim DVD+R DL media. The Verbatim discs have proven themselves to be top performers, with few problems in burning or playback/reading.
Something to consider.
