For DVD-Video content, you only want to use DVD+R DL media, with its booktype set to DVD-ROM in a drive that is able to set it.

Only use Verbatim DVD+R DL media, for the best results.

Most drives set it to DVD-ROM automatically, such as the Pioneer burners. Some require is to be preset, however, like older Samsung drives. I don't have a complete list of which drives do and do not set booktype.

DVD-R DL works fine for data, but have low compatibility with DVD players.

I don't want to let this question sit unanswered much longer, so I'm giving the short answer, instead of the long-winded explanation I was planning on.

Hope that helps.
