No More "shiny silver" TY Value brand from Meritline

For the last few weeks this media has been unavailable from this supplier.

In response to an email query Meritline has informed me that they are no longer carrying:

Taiyo Yuden (DVD-R47VAL600SK) Valueline DVD-R 8X "shiny" Silver Thermal Lacquer Blank DVDR Media Discs 4.7GB in 100 Pack Tape Wrap.

Evidently this relatively inexpensive high qualty 8x media is going the way of the dinosaur. :(

I only wish that I'd purchased more of it from them while it was still in stock. :o

Thanks dyfan for the heads up.

I just got in under the wire with my order here!:)
Great price plus free shipping :D

If this TY x16 media is as good as the TY x8 media I'll be as happy as a clam (whatever that expression means?)

fyi:

Etymology: based on the full form of the phrase happy as a clam in mud at high tide (a clam that cannot be dug up and eaten, which therefore could be considered happy).

I happen use this phrase all the time. Italians (and those of Italian descent) are known to be able to correlate almost anything with food...;)

Thanks for the info

Thank you again dyfan for that tidbit of info. [:)]

Now that I have an understanding of this old expression it is no longer archaic to me and I can use it intelligently and more often. ;)

Whenever I learn something new and useful I am almost always as "happy as a clam in mud at high tide," for what I store in my head only death, dementia or alzheimers can take away from me., just kidding [:)]
