Hi,I just wanted to let you and others know that the office max verbatims dvd-r on sale for $20 a 100 pack have changed.the new verbatim packgaing (white bottom w/blue at top, verbatim in white)are cmc mag while the orange and blue (Old packaging)are still MCC so snatch them up if you can.I do not know if all vebatims are this way or just OM..
Yes, retail Verbatim DVD-R and DVD+R made by Mitsubishi (made in Taiwan, made in India, made in UAE) seem to be disappearing! We emailed forum members about this unfortunate and disturbing situation back in April.

There was also a recent forum post to address this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/show...rand-2268.html

Hope that helps to clear things up for you.

Most retail stores known to carry the Verbatim brand -- OfficeMax, Best Buy, Fry's -- seem to be carrying the new non-MCC Verbatim-branded "Life Series" and/or "Value Series" discs. Even some online retailers, like Newegg and Tigerdirect, are stocking these discs.

So yes, it does seem Verbatim/MCC is disappearing from stores! What we are likely to be left with is the non-MCC cheapo discs in stores, and the true Mitsubishi MCC discs only available under a more elite or "Professional Series" type situation.

Note that MCC media is almost always called "DataLife" or "DataLifePlus" somewhere on the label. Note that it's not present on "Made in UAE" 100-packs, and it's been known to be missing on some packages in the past.

NOTE: You must be logged in to view images below. Either login or sign-up (it's free!) if you've not done so already.

You want to find these:

You don't want these:

(Life Series)

(Value Series)

I highly suggest buying Verbatim discs from the links below, in order to get the good quality MCC media:
... as they tend to always have the best price online (or in stores).

For the best media deals, always refer to http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm
