MAM-A (Mitsui) silver DVD-R/DVD+R - is it any good?
 

I used to use Mitsui cdr's a long time ago without any problems . On the website here it says that they are MAM-A now and there junk .
I am looking for branded and since JVC does not make any , Found this
MAM 16x DVD-R, Silver w/MAM Logo & 50 ct cakebox, 4.7 GB (These are NOT gold where the review is saying was the worst problem with MAM -A media , These are Silver. There currently out of stock but I mailed them to see if they would be getting any in . Should I just forget it ? Are they as bad as they saying ?

I use Verbatim's AZO discs. Years ago I used to find that Memorex were pretty good, but ever since Memorex changed their logo from their circle logo to their lower case logo that they're currently using, the quality has gone down, to where I only use the discs for backup.

But your best bets are Verbatim AZO's or JVC Tayo-Yuden.

What do you think about these MAM-A 16x DVD-R, Silver w/MAM Logo & 50 ct cakebox ? There not in stock yet, There's no metal (there not gold discs) and there branded and made in the USA .

There is metal in the disc, since they do have a silver layer. I have actually never heard of this brand before this, but from what the Mam-A website says about various things, I would stay away from these discs. (Also, on their CD-R page Mam-A mentions that they use Phthalocyanine as their CD-R dye, while their DVD-R dye is just described as "Superior Organic". MAM-A has always been so-so media. It's not very good.
Compared to Mitsubishi, it's junk. I wish it was good, since it was made in the USA, but it's sadly not.

I'd like to buy "made in America" -- but not if it's crap. :(
