Software for testing DVD drive and DVD disc?

What is the best free software to test my DVD drive, optical media and DVD disc burning? I wonder if all of them are 100% good

You mean check ..... burning quality ?

not all burners can be used.

Best of all were the old BenQ-1640 + 1655

Use Nero Infotool 4.
But you need a specific burner to run some of the more advanced quality tests (PIF/PEI/PO/jitter).

This is also equipped with the latest Nero Info Tool
[Nero but I have not installed to burn]

Only some burners are suitable for reading in terms of quality.
You have to try

Here is an example ........ DVD from 2008 TY course.

Total I have 15 burners [to try CD / DVD / HD-DVD and BR]
Unfortunately, a DVD burning clean is an art.

I should download the Nero InfoTool? it is full and free?

lordsmurf 12-06-2015 07:00 AM

It's freeware. It use it all the time.
Nero DiscSpeed works fine, too.
I forget which is being used on my main BenQ scanner, as I'm not there right now.

1 Which is better, Nero DiscSpeed or Nero InfoTool?

2 Nero 11 InfoTool is good?

lordsmurf 12-06-2015 07:09 AM

You just need to try them and see for yourself. At some point, posting questions if not as useful as trying it out.
