Taiyo or Verbatim 8.5gb media?
What media cd/dvd/dvd 8.5gb is better and more durable: JVC Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim?
|
I don't think Taiyo Yuden makes DL disks.
|
I do not know which media buy, I want the durability at a low price in Brazilian currency

TY doesn't make DVD+R DL media, and I don't think their DVD-R DL ever made it out of Japan (or possibly even testing phase). So TY is not an option for this.
Verbatim/Mitsubishi makes the best DVD+R DL that exists. Get that. DVD-R DL has always been a lousy format. Avoid those discs. They're hard to find, expensive, and the writing method makes them coaster out far more often. Verbatim will have the best durability and longevity of existent media. |
I have files that are larger than a DVD of 4.7GB so I thought I'd save these files in dvdr-dl but this type of media is not very reliable to store files for many years? what should I do?
verbatim dvd-+r is more durable and stronger than dvd-+r ty? |
You'll have to split the files smaller than 4.37gb to fit on SL disc. (Not 4.7gb!)

I have a 7GB file to save on dvdr (4.7GB), the media dl is not reliable?
dvd-r verbatim is more durable than dvd-r ty? or no? ty superior |

dl any media that is not verbatim is a bad media?
dvd-r and dvd + r verbatim is more durable than ty? |
Since Taiyo Yuden doesn't make DL media, it's safe to assume Verbatim is more durable. :wink2:

I buy DVD-R 4.7GB Verbatim and burn the disc I have to do a scan jitter, pie and PIF to find out if dvdr disc will have the expected useful life specified by the manufacturer?
the manufacturer says 50 years at 25C 50% RH but you need to know the results of the jitter test, pie, pif? |
