DVD: jitter, PIE, PIF scanning results?

1 I did the correct to have low jitter, low PIE, low PIF or no? I burned the files in Verbatim DVD-R AZO 16x ID: MCC 03RG20 in 6x speed minimum supported for drive?

2 For the long-term storage in years of files in the DVD-R should I be more concerned with jitter, pie, pif values or should I care more about the quality of the media and its manufacturer with read test 100% Good in Nero DiscSpeed 5 and no errors in Verify ImgBurn?

1. Yes, lower is better. Jitter should be under 9. I'm not at my scanning computer today, and forget the ideal values for PIF and PIE offhand. But yes, lower is better. The values also should not raise at the end of a disc, as that means there are end-of-disc issues.

2. They all matter. What you must remember is that scanning is sometimes just as much a statement about the drive, as it is the disc. So you must carefully test in several drives, and have some sort of control (ie, a known-good disc). The everything must be interpreted. Scanning is sometimes just as much art as science.

From what you've written so far, you Verbatim discs are probably decent.
