How can I receive email from threads?

How can I receive email from threads that I participate in?
Thanks,
Steve

User Profile -> Edit Options -> Default Thread Subscription Mode

Or for individual threads, it's under Additional Options of the Go Advanced thread reply screen above Attachments.

It's also enabled by default.

So if you're not getting emails, it means either:

1. You disabled subscriptions manually in the Profile.
2. You're not getting the emails for whatever reason. And when that's the case, we need to know about it.

We're using Amazon SES for emails these days, too many problems with freemail providers like Gmail and Hotmail overly blocking anything not paid/commercial (like SES), or from their own (ironically full-of-spam) freemail networks. After using our own clean spam-free reputable servers for years, freemail providers started blocking whole networks of reputable providers (Namecheap, etc), sometimes even whole datacenters. It's just ridiculous how much power Google and Microsoft have over the entire email ecosystem, and how they abuse it with knee-jerk overreach that harms legit users. Several large ISPs are equally as guilty, such as Bol in South America.

We monitor daily for email deliverability issues, and address them case-by-case (usually by locking the offending account, as it's hard bouncing). But we've not seen any issues lately (thankfully, as email deliverability can be a PITA).

I checked my profile settings (which where were pretty much default), but I've never received an email from this group. Should I have and Amazon SES account to make this work? My domain (WarbirdVideos.com) works fine everywhere else.
Thanks,
Steve

No, that's not how it works. SES is the mail service from AWS. It sends mail, the end. As an end user, there's nothing for you to do, aside from ensure your mailbox/server isn't blocking or blackholing the emails. If we're not getting bounces, then it may mean you're blackholing. Or it may be simple misconfiguration of, or confusion by, your mail server.

You're using Bluehost (Hostmonster), which is a known-terrible EIG-owned host.
DNS seen at: https://intodns.com/warbirdvideos.com

It appears you're also using SpamExperts (as are we, great service!).
So have you confirmed:
- not quarantined in SE?
- not blackholed by SE? (check the logs)

After SE, in cPanel, investigate
- @digitalFAQ.com emails make it from SE to the shared mail server?
- not blackholed by the mail server? (check cPanel 'Track Delivery'; you may have to request support check server logs, see where @digitalFAQ.com emails are going; those logs are only available to root/CLI or in WHM ... and good luck, EIG support is terrible)
- verify SpamAssassin settings, and in all 3 cPanel location (1 is global filters, 2 is per-account filters, 3 is spam filters configurations)
- verify the messages aren't being sent to an unchecked junk/spam folder on your account (easiest seen in IMAP)

You also need to ask yourself this: "What else am I not getting?!"
When you find 1 missing email, there will be more.

Welcome to email. Also known as a circle of internet hell. :screwy:

Yikes! OK. Will dive into it in a couple of days. Thanks!

Is this still an issue?
If not, what was the resolution?
