DV ports are bidirectional and pinouts are standardized. Do not cut and rewire the cable as something will likely go pop. The schematic diagram doesn't 100% reflect reality, they really are only designed to so which trace/wire goes where and information is formatted for maximum readability.

Damn it! Well them I'm completely at a loss :( . The only other thing left to do is to try a PAL D8 Handycam as the Panasonic MiniDV doesn\'t actually say i.link on the connector and the Sony is NTSC.
