CyberPower 1500VA only BackUPS, not Smart UPS?
CyberPower CP1500EPFCLCD 1500VA is only Back UPS, and not Smart?
If not Smart (but provides pure sine waves), is it good enough to protect equipment like TBCs (as these are sensitive to surges/outages)? Thank you for the answer in advance. |
If you opt to use one, basically any one will do. 'Pure Sine' is a marketing term, mathematically there is only one definition of a sine wave, and this ain't it partner.
They do a close enough approximation of a sine to generally cause no issues, however the equipment you are supplying doesn't require pure-AC anyway. |

That said, the older style UPS seem to be made less, and rising in price. While the new style (pure sine) is both easier to locate, and cheaper than it used to be. In general, and that usually includes Amazon and Newegg. My last unit (for TV, video gear) was pure sine wave, but only because it was cheaper. Go figure. Better, newer, and cheaper. |
