Weird protection found in Pixar DVDs?

Hello everyone,

I got a copy of Ratatouille and I was trying to dump it with DVD Decrypter.

While I know that RipGuard is circumventable with the software, this seems to be some sort of protection which is different? Because every time I dump it, it starts getting many read errors a couple hundred megabytes in the disc. This is one that I got in the shrinkwrap, so I know that it isn't due to a scratch. But I did try to use some zeiss and a cloth just in case fingerprints were on the disc, but it had no effect.

This seems very similar to RipGuard with it deterring copying by inserting bad sectors, but that software doesn't seem to get around it. The disc correctly shows up in Explorer as a dual-layer DVD of modest filesize.

Is there any way to dump this properly? I like using Decrypter and I'd hate to use something like DVDFab or MakeMKV as I want consistent ISOs of my DVDs created with the same tool

I guess you don't have a choice but to use DVDFab or MakeMKV. An ISO backup should be the same regardless what software made it.
