A friend of mine here in Northern NJ picked up a beat up Video 8 camcorder at a thrift store with a tape in it. It contained some interesting footage of a basement/workshop containing common recommended hardware for VHS to DVD transfers. The TV commercials playing in the background date it to the past year or two. Can anyone ID every piece of equipment on the shelves? :)

Home video tapes from garage sales/thrift shops can be interesting and/or amusing (as are answering machine tapes). Even commercial tapes left in of VCRs are common. I once found an 8mm video tape in a box of slide projector gear once, turned out to be home made XXX.
