Plustek ePhoto z300 vs. Canon imageFORMULA RS40, thoughts?

They both get good reviews with a few faults. I just don't have the money to spring for an Epson Fastfoto and I want a vertical scanner due to volume.

Has anyone been able to compare these side by side? I can't find a comparison anywhere online.

Both of those scratch photos, and have streaks in the scanned image. The Epson also distorted.

Look at the iX100: https://amzn.to/451ftb1

It's one at a time, but it's fast to manually feed. No scratches, no bad scans.

I tried out scanners for almost 1 year, buying and returning. There is some real garbage out there.

That looks perfect. Price is perfect, feed speed is "quick enough" -I can't thank you enough LS! Looks like this is the one!

Do you think the ix1500 would be a good step up? Does it feed just as clean? It's not too much more on the used market. There's also the ix1600 for a bit more.

No. You're back to quality issues, scratches, and jams.

I initially thought that, too. I was wrong. It was returned. Learn from my mistakes. :)
