Copy memory chip, get photos and videos off camera ?
Hello Mr. K,
Some friends visiting from Germany shot photos on a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC H 50. I asked him to send me a copy of his last Memory Chip, he said he could. What would be the best way for me to get a copy of his Card, that I can use,. If he does anything on his PC it will be in PAL. I am tired of working with PAL. THANKS !!!!!! |
The Sony Cybershot DSC-H50 is a still image camera, and still images don't have "PAL" or "NTSC" designations -- that's only for video.
According to dpreview.com, this camera shoots video as MPEG-1, 640 x 480 @ 30fps silent (or 16.6fps with audio) in "fine" mode, or 320 x 240 @ 8.3 fps in "standard" mode. Unless they have missed something, I see neither NTSC (29.97fps or 23.976fps) or PAL (25fps) shooting speeds. It appears to be non-standard computer-only 30fps video anyway. That's if they even shot some video. The video and images are saved on a Sony-proprietary Memory Stick Duo (or Pro Duo), and given that even 4GB cards cost about $30, I doubt either you or your friends want to go to that expense. Simply have the images copied to a blank CD-R or DVD-R/DVD+R and share that way. That explain it? :) |
