Recommendation for 8mm film transfer company?

I did not see any other section for this or previous thread... so posting here. Please put in proper spot if I missed it.

I have 10, 8mm, 3" film reels that I want digitized. I have been researching the various techniques... and I do not mind spending more money for the highest quality transfer... which from my research seems to be services that clean the file then use Datacine machines to scan the film at 2K or 4K resolution, do real time color and grain correction and output a ProRes or uncompressed master file for me to take from there and produce whatever I need from it.

There is no professional place near me. Most of the local places use real time transfer (project and capture with camera), or low quality scanning. And my Google searches seem to turn up companies that advertise under different names or provide very little details... which does not make me comfortable sending my film to them.

Does anyone on here have a recommendation of a reputable place that does this high quality 8mm scanning?

Thanks!

Companies that do wet-gate transfers were last recommended here:

Ahhh.. thanks! I missed that post somehow. One of the recommended companies is one I was looking at... and one that was listed as a scam, was one I suspected of the same based on their sales and web site appearing under various names and local city search criteria...

Yes, see http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...-film-dvd.html.

If you care about your videos, I'd just use Cinepost.

Their eBay listing seems to offer a better deal than their site: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...-/120906003627

How about now?

I see you recommended Cinepost, but it's been a long time since this was written...

Is it still the same business? Would you still recommend them?

Is there anyone that should be added to the list of recommendations since it was last written?
