NTSC DVDs play in PAL DVD players as-is, no conversion required.

Only region coding is an issue, but there is no region coding on homemade/burned discs.

BTW, PAL DVDs play in most NTSC DVD...

AUTO/NORM turns on spatial noise reduction even when the TBC/NR function is Off, and even on consumer-grade JVC VCRs with no TBC. It's a static smoothing filter.


EDIT does disable luma noise...
