No. :) DV is just another AVI codec, except that the camera creates it, which you then just "copy"/transfer to the computer using WinDV or Scenalyzer. The file size for LAGS is around 24gb per hour...

For DV/Firewire, you should be using WinDV or Scenalyzer. That's because this method will mean a "transfer" of the DV data from the TRV38 as opposed to a re-encode into another codec.
