Tip: How to finalize DVD when recorder refuses?
 

My Magnavox H216MW9A will not finalize a DVD if there is a program scheduled to be recorded.

By removing all scheduled programs, it will finalize DVDs normally.
I accidentally discovered that by experiment.
Other brands VCR may do the same thing.
