Samsung DVD-VR375 Cassette Hits Door when Ejecting

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all!

I have an odd issue I can't figure out. I've attached a video to show what happens. When I try to eject a tape from my Samsung DVD-VR375, the door opens and as the cassette is about to eject it appears the mechanism holding the door open sags a tiny bit, which makes the door close a tiny bit and the cassette hits the door. The cassette then goes back into the VCR.

Every so often the cassette will eject successfully, otherwise I have to hold the door open. I know it's easy to hold the door open but I want it to function properly. Any idea why this is happening?

Thank you!!

When putting on the front plastic cover on newer decks like this you have to hold the door all the way open so the plastic bit that opens the door ends up in the correct place (it usually pushes on a flap on the door hidden by the front cover. (A bit hard to explain.) Not sure if that's what happened here, but that's one thing that can cause this, alternatively it's possible the plastic bit that opens the door is broken.

Yeah I made sure it's in the little groove on the back of the door. It almost looks like the gears push that plastic level a little too far causing it to sag.
