Problem with Sanyo 7200 Beta HiFi VCR
 

I have a Sanyo 7200 Beta HiFi VCR that I got off of Ebay a year ago that doesn't want to play tapes. The rewind & fast foward functions work, however, the play & record functions don't work. When I first got it, I could sometimes get it to play & record, however, I haven't used the VCR in over a year & now it absolutely refuses to play tapes. I tried replacing a couple of belts & one of the idler tires in the VCR, but it didn't fix the problem. I've also read on another forum that the problem could be with the clutch. I would like to know what I can do to make it work?

This may be service manual, don't know what the II means. Could be the same machine, could be completely different.
