JVC HR-J681 turns off after 10 sec, mechanism locked?

Can anyone help me with VCR JVC Model: HR-J681 ?

The problem occurred when the tape got stuck. I took out the cassette feed mechanism, took out the cassette and put the mechanism back in the VCR. Mechanism is inside and a new cassette cannot be placed inside, because it is blocked. He can't move.. As soon as I turn on the VCR, it buzzes for 10 seconds and turns itself off. It’s like something is holding him back or blocking him from working.

Nothing moves inside when it turns on, it just buzzes, as if something is locked... Until yesterday, it worked normally without any problems, until the cassette got stuck.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago and the master fixed it. So, there is a solution... Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

I hope I have clarified the problem well. I am ready to clarify everything, if someone understands or had a problem like this... Thanks in advance :wink2:

It looks like the mechanism is in a partially loaded position. It should normally move itself to the eject position when turned on if it's not in it already and there is no tape in (I have the exact same VCR, though many JVCs use the same mechnism.) but it loooks lke something is preventing it from doing so.

Did you take out the whole mechanism or just the plate holding the cassette down? You can try to unload the mechanism manually by turning the belt/pulleys on the right counter-clockwise, if not, maybe there is a gear somewhere that has skipped? In that case you would have to take the mechanism out and check with the service manual whether everything is positioned and timed correctly.

Thanks for your reply :)

That's right, there is no tape, and the VCR behaves as if the tape is inside :smack:

I didn’t take out the whole mechanism, just the plate holding the tape down. And since I brought it back, it's been standing down, and it won't even go back manually, so I can't put the new tape in the VCR. I also turned the belt, it wasn't worth it. And I wonder why not a single gear will move either left or right... :screwy:

This VCR has worked perfectly for more than 10 years, and now for the second time this same problem :(

I looked at the service manual, but I did not find a solution.

I took out the mechanism. Can you tell from the pictures if something is wrong?

The black gear on the left side doesn't rotate. Only when I turn the belt, gear spin very little and stop.
