How to access JVC menu without remote?
 

Just received a JVC-DVS3u from Lordsmurf. Packed very well.
It did not come with a remote control. IS there a way to access and operate the menu with out the remote?
Is the infrared receiver hooked up on this device allowing me set up a universal remote? I want to adjust the settings of things that appear on the tv screen when operating the vcr

The remote is required to access the JVC menus.

Get the JVC LP20303 from eBay, a mere $15 or so.
But only a unit with battery cover, and images show it to be clean (aka no leaked battery acid, which easily damages the remote board).

While many of my decks include remotes, many more do not, as those are essentially consumables in a pro environment, and wear out in time. I don't even have enough for myself anymore. Most of my decks come from pro settings, meaning these were taken care of by the previous owner, though I still had to give attention, refurb it.
