Phillips DVDR3575 loses stations?

I have a vintage Phillips DVDR3575H recorder that records OTA or inputted video on to a 160GB drive. My problem is that it constantly loses the station programming and shows up with a BSOD. You can select General options to relearn all the stations again but it's a pain, especially when I was expecting a recording and get nothing. It's always plugged in but is there some kind of button battery or something that is required to "remember" the programmed stations?

Vintage? Yikes. Not sure it's that old, circa 2007'ish, I still remember driving to a Walmart 3 counties over to pick this up, and the RCA. RCA was better for recording SD off cable, this Philips was better for OTA 16x9 HD to 16x9 SD DVD.

This unit often had BSOD/fail type issues. Mine quit turning on entirely. I let a member here look at it, and he at least retrieved my recordings using another 3575 and swapping HDD.

I vaguely remember the unit forgetting settings. It was never my main unit, only used for about 5 years total. So waste of funds to have failed so easily.
