VCR remote controls, arduino remote codes?
maybe this can help someone... i have 2 VCR, a Philips VR1100 and a Philips VR1000 (these VCRs has internal TBC and S-video output... and they maybe are useful to digitize old VHS)
my issue was that i have only the 2 VCRs without remotes, this mean that i was not able to enter the "menu" settings of them... a solution i found is to use an arduino with the irremote library (lot of youtube videos or online infos/tutorials) to "dump" original keys of the remotes. (these was sent to me from india using the same method) for example the VR1100 MENU button is: Code:
char ProntoData[] = "0000 006D 0009 0000 004A 001A 0029 001C 0027 001C 0029 003D 004A 003D 004C 003D 004A 001C 0027 0041 0046 06C3 "Code:
char ProntoData[] = "0000 006D 000A 0000 0027 001C 004A 001C 0027 001C 0027 003F 004A 003D 004A 003F 0027 001C 0027 001E 0048 003F 0027 06C3 "if anyone need some keys for the VR1100 and VR1000 please reply have a nice day |
I got a philips vr 900 that don't have the remote if you can have the hex sequence i'd be grateful.
I got a toshiba V442Ef aswell (i tried all the remote codes i could find to make it work with a urc 7145 oneforall without luck) |
sorry i dont't have that remotes... it's necessary to find at least one working to grab codes...
i payd the indian to receive the VR1100 codes (and i found a compatible remote partially working for the VR1000 ) .. also i have just 10 remotes form cheaper units right now... |
You can load custom stuff onto one4all remotes via a serial adapter since they are jp1 compatible, maybe you already looked into that. It's a bit clunky to use though you can find codes for a bunch of things online. (There was a website that had a bunch of listings but can't find it right now, managed to find one for the service remote for one of my dvd-recorders among other things)
I would have to re-check but I think there is at least some cross-compatability between the remotes for the VR1100 and VR900 (I have both, and they have like nearly identical remotes). The VR1100 is not compatible with JVC remotes despite having internals similar to JVCs. Alternatively these universal remotes have codes you can load via the computer interface for nearly all VCRs I've tried, get continuously updated and can be found for like $15-20 on ebay and similar: https://superior-electronics.com/en/...r-freedom-usb/ As for the arduino, one person on the dd86 discord managed to rig one up to emulate the JVC Jig RCU service remote so definetly some possibilities there. |
very thank you for the infos Hodgey!
