JVC HR-DVS1 powers down after 3 seconds

Hi,
I have a JVC HR-DVS1 that was donated to me as working. However, when powered on, the unit shuts himsfel off after 3 seconds, even when no tape is inserted.
When inserting a tape, it loads the tape then shots off.
When a tape is inside, it plays for a second then automatically shuts down.
I read some advice about a gear under the heads HERE, but this unit has not gear under the VCR heads (nor the MiniDV ones).
In THIS shared folder you can find a video of the problem and some photo of the heads.
What can the problem be?

Thank you all :)

Your link has some sort of "request permission to see" thingy so many probably won't actually get too far to look at it.

Unlikely that the heads have any issues, most likely is a dirty mode switch or one of the position sensing switches is malfunctioning or dirty.

I unlocked the files to all who have the link :)
Thanks for all the advices, I'll try to clean the mode switch.

It does look like a dynamic drum syndrome but I can't see the gears from underneath the head to see if there is a split in the gear, To examine it further you may want to remove the head assembly from the main chassis, watch out for the shot head ribbon cable. Do not take the DD system a part, it is factory aligned.

Unrelated to your issue, you should remove that automatic cleaning roller, It does more harm than good now.

I don't believe this model has the dynamic drum, but yes symptoms do sound similar.

Based on your post where you said the gears under the head I assumed it has a dynamic drum, So you were referring to the wrong thread then, because that one is about the dynamic drum.
