JVC HM-DH30000U not playing back D-VHS tapes

I was planning on doing more D-VHS transfers, but my unit stopped playing D-VHS tapes. When I popped in a tape, it said "CALIBRATING" and the image never popped up. Tried another tape, same issue. Something must've failed. Is there any fix for this?
