Take apart unusual VCR drum?
4 Attachment(s)
I'd like to take this unusual drum appart (something is not right about it, it rattles, vibrating a lot) and i got no picture or 98% noise.
I had a similar vcr not long ago but everything was working right so didn't bother opening it. On this model the stator is soldered on the board the magnet is on the lower side of the drum On top of the upperside shaft there is some kind of press fitted retainer nut (can i remove that ? how is the question if so) Suggestions welcome, thanks guys. |
The only way to find out for sure it to get a service manual.

The manual service is not very explicit on the matter, but i guess the lower drum comes out first, thing is there are no screws.

Well, after putting some fresh caps in the psu, reflowing a bit everywhere (scart, sensors..) turns out that Thomson bad boy is back in effect, it wouldn't at first (kinda wrong speed of the drum, slow) but i don't know after a couple starts/stops, playback different tapes, tightening everything, it works like a champ now .
That still don't tell me how that drum can be disassemble though. Thanks for nothing guys |
