Toshiba V-S36 Beta VCR possessed?
 

Hey there.. when I power on the betmax the idler assesmbly keeps moving back and forth like crazy. See video. It unspoools on play and no rewind but does fastforward. But power on puts it into this cycle. Ive never seen this before.

The first think to check is the cassette sensors, then the mode switch, then proceed with checking the mechanical alignment.

Ill check the sensors now.. the mode switch is tough.. I cannot even get under it. Its sandwiched between metal.
