Panasonic NV‑FS200 dirty roller, static?

Hello guys!

See att.

1. This gold roller is very dirt, how to clean it?
2. When pausing I have static noise (lines) at the top of the screen, tracking doesn't help. Any ideas? When playing everything is fine.

Thanks!

1. That roller is one of the easier pieces in the VCR tape path to clean. It's large and smooth with no crevices and can be easily removed from the machine for inspection and cleaning. Do you know how to properly clean the rest of the tape path including the video head drums and tiny, fragile heads, the stationary heads, the capstan shaft and pinch roller?

2. "Still frame" in pause without picture interference is more difficult for VCR's than in normal play. A good, solid picture in normal play is all that's needed for playing and digitizing.

The brass roller you mentioned is not used in pause mode.

Thanks. I guess I should clean it with isopropyl alcohol? Regarding the pause, what actions can I take? Is there anything I can adjust to make it perfect? Basically, this model is known for its incredible pause.
