JVC HM-DH30000U, audio but no video?
 

Hello, I have a JVC HM-DH30000U D-VHS VCR that doesn't output any video, only audio. No signal out of Composite, S-Video, Component, or FireWire. No OSD, not even a jump in the picture, nothing. Again, all I get is audio.

What could be the issue here? I haven't seen anyone else have this issue on the internet.

I would start with the power supply, visual check looking for bulged components. signs of heat such as discoloration, lifted or damaged components, then check your voltages according to the service manual.

The late D-Theater VHS decks are pretty well known to have lots of surface mount capacitors that need replacing in addition to power supply capacitors often also needing replacement. I had three DH40KU's and out of the 3, I was only able to get one working using parts from all 3. DH30KU's I've heard aren't quite as bad, but still often need TBC recapping and power supply recapping. Would start by looking there for sure.
