Admin-- DR-M10 and DR-MH30 service manuals + schematics attached so you can add it to the service manual thread, etc.

So you either need the JIG RCU or the magic firmware update CD to do things according to the service manual procedure. I wonder if I could call JVC and get them to send me a firmware update CD... hmm...

I found a place that has the JIG RCU... but it's $55. I'm having trouble justifying the purchase.

BUT... all of this is a moot point. The listing ended early, and this was the response I got when I asked the seller why:

"After I checked the recorder based on a request, I found out that the problem with the boot up was due to a corrupted DVD disc that I have in the recorder's dvd drive. Once I removed the corrupted DVD, the JVC was operating in perfect condition again. Since it is operating correctly, I decided to pull the listing as the starting price was set at $29."

WHY did I have to ask him for further explanation?! I could've ended up with a $50 shipped DR-MH30 if he hadn't checked it again! Ha.
