NV-HS1000 won't eject tapes

Hi all,

I just purchased a Panasonic NV-HS1000 and all appears to be OK on first look except that it willnot eject tapes.

When trying to eject it seems that the door only pulls back part way and butts up against the video preventing it from ejecting. This seems to send the VCR into some confusion and I have to go through some button pressing to get the tape to go back in properly. The only way that I can get the tape out is if I hold the door open while pressing eject.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Would this be covered in a service manual? I am a novice to VCR repair I am afraid.

Thanks for any advise in advance.

I'd stated with the service manual.
One of our members has posted it here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vcr-...panasonic.html

Hopefully that helps. :)

Thanks! I had found it actually and grabbed a copy for future reference. However, these service manuals always appear to be mostly schematics and list of parts and there is very little (if any) information on the mechanics as it were. Would you expect another manual to exist covering this?

Actually I just found a "Full" service manual for this machine which does include the mechanical aspects. It can be downloaded here: http://diagramas.diagramasde.com/otros/NV-HS1000.pdf
