Panasonic AG 1980 power supply?
 

Just wondering what are the non electrolytic capacitor values in the power supply? One is 0.068uf 250V and is red-brown in color. What are the C4 C8 C2 C30 values and what will be a better replacement. Thanks you.

I have no idea. This, however, is info that I really want to have archived on this site. We need to collect as much info on these old VCRs as is possible!

.068uf sounds pretty low, perhaps its 68uf? Usually the caps in a power supply are large and have the values printed on them, particularly the filter caps.

Nope. I have it in my hands. "LL2 GPF MKT" and on the other side is " .068UF 250V 40/085/21 X2 ECQ-UN N "

On a blue one C30 is written "RB 222K 2KV"
On a blue C8 is "CS 222M 250V (+) EWT"
On C2 and C4 is "CS102K 250V (+) EWT"
Now the letters and number are small so I guess that is what is written.

SO they are rated for 250V. Now What are the values?
0.068uf the brown, large one.
What is 222M and 102K for the smaller blue ones? Are they all poly film caps?

For the ones who did want to share their knowledge this is what I found out:
C30 is 2.2nF with 10% tolerance 250V aka 222k 2KV 250v
C8 is 2.2nF 20% tolerance 250V aka 222M 250V
C2, C4 is 1nF with 10% tolerance 250V aka 102K 250V

The big brown-red one MKT means metalic poyester foil ".068uF 250V" but something is missing here because it is pretty largeapprox 2.2 x 1 x 0.5 cm.
So if someone wants to help is welcome.

C2 and C4 are the main filter capacitors and should be quite large. Its odd that Panasonic omitted the values from the main parts list (page 93 of the service manual). The values do appear on the power supply schematic on page 74 however.

Funny is the fact that the caps in the unit are rated at a higher voltage. And 250 is VAC( or 250V ~). This numbers are from the actual caps in the unit. So far about 80% of the caps are bad in my unit and I did not check the non-electrolytic ones. I never encounter a problem with Technics caps, but probably this Panasonic unit was used every day for so many years. I have an older unit that looks similar to this one but mono (1991) and is still working perfect, so time is not such a big issue. This caps are drying because of overuse and probably overheated units. If it is not already refurbished you probably will have to and very soon. I do not believe that for only few hundred$ someone will replace almost all of them.
