Lite-ON or JVC DVD Recorder
I have used the Lite-ON/Ilo clone --both single disk & hard drive, and using also a JVC MV5SU ---yes both contain the LSI Encoding chip --JVC using the true VBR, not CVBR like the Lite-On/ilo. :mad4:
But at times I would get frustrated with the quirkiness of the Lite-On/ilo in spite of its wonderful simpilicity. I then moved forward with Panasonic DMR-ES15 ---which to discover an awful picture even in SP speed. Moved toward Pioneer DVR-220s ---strong picture even to the 6hr speed, especially recording from DISH DVR, with VHS --another story. I wanted to try to get at least 2-3 VHS movies,or 4- hour long episodes to 1 DVD-R, but I am now abandoning that to stay in DVD-R spec of 120 minutes max ---with occasional using of bit-rate of JVC/Lite-On/ilo 3hr speed for some over 2 hr but below 3 hr VHS recordings. I have recorded the same item on both Lite-ON/ilo DVDR04 & DVDHDR04 & LVW-5045 --and JVC MV5SU --which I purchased late in the game based on info from here and other forums.:congrats: So to bring this long winded intro to desired topic ---could I get some feedback from others here that are using VHS to DVD Recorder projects, if any still.:salute: |
use the JVC - XP or FR155 modes are best.
SP mode is not that great see Lordsmurfs thread - http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...mode-best.html |
