Panasonic VHS-C camcorder glitching video?
Hello!
My VHS-C camcorder is experiencing issues. I bought it "well working, tested", however, it seems hardly so. I tried recording some video of a bird in SLP mode. The video is unwatchable. https://youtu.be/x57ijgW5CEk Can anybody tell me what the issue with this camcorder is? This is the only problem it's got so far. |
Yes, the camera is suspect.
But VHS-C is probably the worst consumer format ever. It could just as easily be a stubborn tape not liking a more-limited tracking range afforded tapes by the camera. So ... why are you using a camera? If transferring tapes, use a Panasonic AG-1980P S-VHS VCR. TGrant usually has some for sale, if needed. |
I was trying to digitize tapes of my second birthday. However, I never put valuable tapes in an untested machine. I decided to use my BASF tapes to test its functions. I wanted to use the PV-43 because it has metal amorphous heads in hopes that the final product would look better vs an average vcr+playpak.
I neglected to mention that the camera's battery is nearly dead. It only holds a charge for a minute, and may not be supplying enough voltage to successfully record. |
