Sony DVW A500 Is Frozen
 

Hello

My Sony DVW A500 displays 88:88:88:88, cannot get it to move past this
or function. It is not an error code that I know of. Any suggestions? Sony pro told me it requires service. They wanted me to ship unit to them, etc. I wish for various reasons to service it myself. I have quite a bit of VCR/Broadcast service and maintenance experience over the years. Also, I have the service manual in pdf file.
