B&H Video has a pdf online that still lists the Panasonic ag-5710 and ag-1980 with their original specifications

Its in PDF format they appear on PDF index pages 8 and 9 nice easy reading with real numbers

I'm really curious about the original of these VCRs and their history

I have a lot of offline tearsheets from old magazines on photo and video. For example, I still have the B&H full-page multi-page sales sheets, which shows prices. The unit was about $2k in the early 90s, went down to about $875 in the late 90s at some non-B&H shady NY/NJ shops, and then went back up as EOL approached.
