MG Chemical audio and video head cleaner versus Isopropyl 99% alcohol?

Is there any benefit to their head cleaner versus 99% alcohol?

Yes.
Isopropyl alcohol leaves an oily alkaline residue. Specialized a/v cleaners don't.

I've never had issues with 91% IPA leaving any residue.
60/70/80% do.

Also: NEVER OVERCLEAN or UNNECESSARILY CLEAN VCR HEADS!!!!
