Replacement of pinch roller in Philips VR20D?
6 Attachment(s)
Could someone tell me and explain, among other things, by typing and editing the attached pictures (if there is such a possibility and necessity) how to replace a pinch roller in a VCR: Philips VR20D(from what I know is the equivalent: JVC HM-DR10000) ?

Nobody knows how to do it ? Could anyone help ?
I will add that the pinch roller itself (rubber roller) can be replaced (only this is currently the most easily available for me) - without the metal arm on which it hangs. |
Why are you replacing the pinch roller…? Don’t replace anything unless you’re experiencing problems with your VCR. A worn out pinch roller will usually cause curling or wrinkling on the tape. You may also want to check that the pinch roller assembly is sitting firmly in the right position. Using some IPA to clean off the oxide debris is also a good idea.

Because I have problem with this VCR, tapes used in it and I just see that is bad - I read about it.
But I don't know how to replace it... I can't find on internet helpfull instruction. |

Thanks but...
Could you describe in more detail how to do it and by editing the pictures attached by me show with which parts what to do ? [I do not know if the operation (activities) would be similar with this equipment... There are also photos attached: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vcr-...html#post63391] |
A quick search in the forum brought the service manual, just read it:

Thank you.
But it's not written there how to remove a pinch roller from a pinch roller arm assembly... I guess the pinch roller is itself replaceable... or not and need to replace it with his arm on which it hangs ? What about the Panasonic NV-HS1000 to which I also sent the link ? |
When you remove the arm assembly and you have the new pinch roller, you will figure out how to replace it.

I removed the arm assembly with the pinch roller, but I still don't know how to remove the pinch roller correctly from the arm on which it hangs...
To force pull it off ? Pictures attached. |
To remove it pull the center black plastic sleeve from the shaft and the pinch roller will come off, to put back slide the pinch roller on the shaft and insert the plastic sleeve until it stops.
|
Thank you for advice.
How should the pinch roller rotate on the shaft ? It should be quite hard to turn when you turn your finger (it doesn't turn after releasing finger from its turn) or should it lightly and freely turn when you turn it with your finger (it turns a moment by itself after releasing finger from it) ? |
I have no clue what you are saying, just post youtube videos explaining what you need or want to do.
