Unknown VHS-C capture colour issue?
3 Attachment(s)
Firstly I must say I am doing this as an interest/hobby, if I wanted the best possible conversion of some old family VHS-C tapes I would have gone to a professional. As it stands I am trying to capture as best I can and over the next few months I will be playing with the output.
Although this is my first post, I have read this and many other forums extensively and I am grateful for the knowledge I have absorbed. The hardware I have to play with is:
I tried various combinations but have ended up with: NV-FS200 (TBC OFF) -> DMR-ES10 -> TBC-1000 -> ATI AIW 9800 SE (VirtualDubMod - PCM/Huffyuv) Anyway, the issue I am having and one that I haven't managed to find a name or explanation for is this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/atta...s-capture-1jpg http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/atta...s-capture-2jpg http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/atta...s-capture-3jpg Bright colours, particularly whites like the sky, are florescent. Weirdly, this seems to apply to most of the VHS-C tapes I have, but not necessarily every recording on each tape. I have found some similar issues, but none exactly like this. Thanks in advance, would be nice to put a name to this problem so I can investigate further. |
Looks like a bad chroma sensor on the original recording camera. I've seen things like this before. Not quite as severa, but close to it.
