Capturing with AIW 7500 VE PCI, drivers, soundcard?

I purchased an ATI AIW 7500 VE PCI version from Lord Smurf, and I’m finally getting around to setting it up. I followed the guides here on the forums, but I have a few questions.
1. An issue seems to be that I installed Windows XP MCE SP2 and it refused to install the radeon drivers that were provided in the thread and just threw an error about inf files. Presumably the ATI drivers that windows auto-installed were newer than the ones in the thread(catalyst 4.3, 8.00.13), is that an issue?
2. What is the best sound card I can stick in there? I’m using a cheap USB sound card from China until I can get something better. I’ll order whatever is suggested off Amazon with one-day shipping because I need it quickly. (Work)

As far as sound cards are concerned, you should purchase a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. They can be found for around $40 on ebay. For more info about why this particular sound card is recommended read this thread written by jwillis84.

Thanks! A quick eBay search shows two different models of the Santa Cruz

TB400-2541-02

What’s the difference between those?

I’m running an ASUS P5E mono, 8gb DDR2 ram, and Intel Core2duo

It seems like that motherboard has 2 PCI expansion slots so there should be no problem so far as compatibility is concerned. I am not sure how significant the revisions between those two models are.

Previously I had a TB400-2541-01 in my capture rig, but I removed it because it began distorting the left channel audio during my analog captures. I replaced it with a TB400-2541-02 and so far as I can tell both models are compatible with the exact same drivers.

You might want to purchase the TB400-2541-02 just because it was manufactured more recently.
