SECAM Capture with Hauppauge HD PVR

Hello,

I've come across an old VHS tape with home video shot in SECAM, I'm pretty sure it's SECAM L since it's from my uncle who lives in France. To watch it I've acquired a Samsung VCR, which is pretty crap but supports SECAM.

Now, when the VCR is hooked up to my TV and both are switched to SECAM I get the full picture in color. Unfortunately when I hook it up to the Hauppauge HD PVR to capture it with Total Media Extreme I first get nothing until I switch the VCR to PAL, then I get a B&W picture.
Total Media Extreme has a video standard selector in Device Settings but that doesn't work - it changes nothing when I select SECAM L (or any other format) and hit "Apply", and when I close the settings window and reopen it it resets back to PAL B.
I'm pretty sure the HD PVR supports SECAM, so I think it's a software issue.
Is there any way to force Total Media Extreme to SECAM, or should I use a different piece of software OR am I entirely wrong and the Hauppauge doesn't support SECAM?

Use Vdub, avoid any unknown software even if it comes with the capture device.

I'm aware of software recommendations. I've never been able to get VDub to work on Windows 10 and with this device and I'm perfectly happy with TME as far as quality and ease of use goes. Unless VDub can solve my problem specifically, I.E capture this SECAM tape in color, I'm not investing any more time in trying to get it to work. I'm looking for a solution with my current software or a recommendation of another piece of software if you know that it'll do what I'm trying to do.

As long as you have a driver for your card vdub should work fine.
