Hey all,
So, I've been trying to upgrade my capture setup and managed to find a brand new AIW 800x on ebay for a good price, and I had an old system lying around so I installed the card and windows XP on it. after fussing around to get the drivers I managed to get a picture on VirtualDub, only problem is i'm getting a horrible image Attachment 12612 I tested it with multiple VCRs / cameras and it's the same image every time. That's just going straight from the VCR to the card, no TBC. I've captured these tapes with my BM Intensity Shuttle, and got a way better image than this so I figured it would be able to handle it. Am I doing something wrong here? or do you think the card is broken? |
This may just be a VirtualDub setup issue.
59.94 is wrong at the bottom right, should be 29.97 (if NTSC). Are you NTSC or PAL? That looks like a B&W PAL signal over NTSC crossbar. Because this is an AIW card, we have a 2nd way to test it -- install ATI MMC. MMC 9.1x is lousy, ATI MMC 9.0 and below. But I don't recall offhand which ATI MMC works with this exact card. Whatever is one the original CD is ideal for this card. Do you have that CD? (And if so, I'd like a copy, for our ATI AIW archives here.) |
Assuming we're talking AIW X800XT AGP then MMC 9.02 works.
I'm using Catalyst Control Center 6.2 drivers with XPSP2. 6-2_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_30152.exe Newer/other drivers should work (I tinkered with a few) but my goal was to use the smallest driver package. Going by the "ATI T200 AVStream Analog Capture" in the VirtualDub screen above, those are newer drivers; not necessarily "bad" it's just that the earlier drivers will show up differently in Device Manager, FWIW. |
