Drivers for ATI All-in-Wonder 9600 card?

I know there are configurations described on here and entries for downloads for the 9600 drivers but I feel like I have tried many of them or may be trying old advice. I can get the different MMCs downloaded and working, but all of them say the drivers needed to be installed for the graphics cards. I can get the display portion working, because I am using a 1080 display and that is working, but the capture is never recognized on either virtualdub or the MMC.

Can somebody just itemize what needs to be downloaded preferably with links and in what order? Assume it's after I've uninstalled everything ATI.

My hardware:
Computer - Optiplex GX260
Capture card - ATI All-in-Wonder 9600
VCR - Panasonic AG-7650
TBC - BigVoodoo TBC

AIW info/advice isn't old. The install info will not change.

Everything you need is here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...der-hacks.html
If you think something is missing, post an add request in that thread.
If you have a specific problem on install, reply back here with what it is.

That TBC model may give you major issues.

Also not the best VCR, but it can work. Not the best quality, limitations, but functional if not run into the ground (which many are).

My problem is that post is incredibly confusing. You say things like posts 1-5 apply to you, when if you have a 9600 it clearly doesn't. Because post 4 (or is it 5? Is [Someday, 12:01pm] even a post?) says that it is for a 7000 series not the 9600. You also say
Quote:

From late 2003 until the end-of-life of the card series (2005/2006), the three installers were merged into a single installer application named "Catalyst
But then none of the downloads are labeled that way to make it clear for a non-professional.
Also you say
Quote:

ATI MMC 8.x series also required the installation of DAO/MDAC package, adding yet another installer.
But where is that? Which one? It's not clear to me.

Then you offer all manner of downloads MMC 8.1, 8.7, 8.8, 9.2 but how am I to know what's best?

For me specifically I have just resorted to uninstalling and reinstalling every logical combo, but I am left with the same problem every time. The display driver works like a charm, but capture never works when I load up the different MMCs or Virtualdub. I know my VCR works and the s-video out is fine because I have tested it on a tv and even a projector.

Do you have the CD that came with that card?

MMC is only needed for MPEG capturing. Do you plan to do MPEG capturing?
Use VirtualDub 1.9.x for AVI (Huffyuv lossless).

EDIT: I just learned that you have one of the TBCs that I vetted. It should be fine in this exact setup, with that VCR. So after setting up the capture system, you should be ready to capture. :)

The card didn't come with a CD. I want to do AVI. My real concern is really with capture not working. No video input is ever recognized.

I should have the ISO image for the 9600. I'll upload that for you. :)
May take a day or so.

Also, I edited my above posts, you may want to re-look at those.

I would appreciate that. What problems do you imagine I might have with the TBC?

That exact unit you have has a quirk/flaw, but you should not face any problems with it in your exact workflow with your exact tape sources.

Again, I vetted it, it does not have the standard BV TBC problems.

I was just apprised of who you are.

Again, as soon as the AIW card is setup, you should be good to go. :)
