Output file corrupted? (analog video capture)

I was doing some analog to digital capturing in VLC, and this is the result I got after the capture was completed. When I open the file up in VirtualDub and ask for the information of the AVI, this is what I get. Apparently, the length of the video is 24:20:31:23.64, even though I had only recorded for about one or two hours. Every media player except MPC-HC is required to 'fix the AVI index' before playing the video file.

Code:

Video:
Frame size, fps (µs per frame): 640x480, 0.007 fps (142857143 µs)
Length: 232193 frames (24:20:31:23.64)
Decompressor: Internal Motion JPEG decoder (MJPG)
Number of key frames: 232193
Min/avg/max/total key frame size: 7205/47632/114722 (10800707K)
Min/avg/max/total delta size: (no delta frames)
Data rate: 3 kbps (0.05% overhead)

Audio:
Sampling rate: 44100Hz
Channels: 2 (Stereo)
Sample precision: 16-bit
Compression: PCM (Uncompressed)
Layout: 2618 chunks (1.51s preload)
Length: 171552000 samples (1:05:40.41)
Min/avg/max/total frame size: 177152/262111/262144 (670125K)
Data rate: 1411 kbps (0.01% overhead)

0.007 fps and 3kbps video? What? Whatever you are doing you are doing it the wrong way.

Why? That's not capture software.

Use VirtualDub.
