Does anyone know the LSI Logic DVxplore MPEG Profile?
I'm sort of working on decoding the JVC series of DVD recorder hard drives.
Across several SR and DR models I have noticed the MPEG video appears to be in the same MPEG2 format, but stored in what looked like a different MPEG2 Profile format. I'm not an MPEG expert. The end result is when they play on Windows Media Player or VLC, strips of video within a frame are rendered crisp and clear, but then interlaced with strips of gray or gray inverted video. I have seen this so much across so any models I'm confident its either an alternative or custom profile, it always looks the same. Its a fringe subject so I won't get frustrated if no one has a clue. I was just hoping to figure it out so we could add some JVC DVD and Blueray recorders to the Isobuster list of supported dvd recorders for video extraction. Happy holidays. |
DVD-Video must be MP@ML profile. It can't be anything else, profile-wise.
