I must be able to view the downloading project live. i am presently looking at the Avermedia $80.00. Also is there a software (free or purchased) no subscriptions. that will allow me to change the video format to mp4? I intend on downloading dvd's onto my computer's hardrive. dvd player connected directly to my computer. |

I'm confused too. Ripping DVD's to computer has nothing to do with capture cards.

DVD video is already digital, not analog. So it's very easy to import it to your computer simply by using your computer's DVD drive (if it doesn't have one you can purchase a USB external DVD drive) in conjunction with software like makemkv.
