Error transferring with Windows 7 Pro machine?

2 Attachment(s)
I have a dedicated video computer that i recently frankensteined together from old retired office machines.

I installed the 510 USB drivers successfully on this machine and installed Video Dub as well.

When i go to capture video in VD while my Hi8 is playing i get these errors.

It is not allowing me to Transfer anything.

I did run a test with the same gear on my Studio's Win 10 machine and did transfer video although the transfer looked like doggie doo doo (see other post on this form).

The Win 7 machine is NOT connected to the internet and all unused programs have been removed. Its a lean machine. AND i have a separate SSD hard drive from the OS drive for transferring video.

Anyone have any insight on what may be happening?

Don't use 1.10.x
Use 1.9.x as provided here on the forum.

VirtualDub

LS,

Okay i will start using 1.9 then.

Over the weekend i did get the Win 7 machine working. I suppose i neglected to restart the Win 7 machine after the 501 USB drivers were installed. I forgot that Win 7 has a kink for restarting every time you get it hot and bothered. Win 10 has spoiled me with how easy it is to install stuff without thinking.

I had to revert back to 2007 thinking......

Right now my Win 7 machine IS working as it should.

Odd observations...in Win 7 Vdub gives me a preview window that works. In Win 10, the preview window in Vdub is blank but i can see (and know) it is capturing video as it gives a status.

Now that my Win7 machine is working as it should i will do all the transfers there.

Yo LS,

I downloaded the 1.9 from the link you provided. All i see is a 32 bit version.
My win7 machine is 64 bit.

is it okay to run the 32 bit on a 64 bit machine? Or did i overlook something in the RAR where there is a 64 bit version? Just not seeing it.

Yes. You want to use 32bit vdub. It will run fine on 64-bit Windows.
